Regular is the name of a font weight. The default setting: nobody picks it, everybody uses it. Most brand communication is made the same way. Same formats, same sentences, same trend in the same week. The result is a flawless feed. And not one thing anyone remembers.
The eye doesn’t see what it’s used to. The brain ignores what it can predict. Attention goes only to the unexpected.
So we start by learning the rules: of the category, the platform, the audience, the brand. Then we decide which one is worth breaking. Not all of them. One.
Being irregular isn’t a style. It’s a decision. Weirdness without a reason is just noise.
We speak the language of cinema: framing, editing, rhythm, silence. We know how the internet behaves: feed, format, algorithm, comments. We think about both at the same table. We know how to re-cut a commercial for vertical, and how to build a film’s release campaign months ahead.
We don’t separate the idea from distribution. A good idea that doesn’t reach the right person isn’t an idea yet. And a media plan that carries nothing worth looking at is just spending.
A like isn’t a result; it’s a symptom. The real question is what the work earned the brand.
We know the rules. We break one. On purpose.
The story of the name
ThinLightRegularIrRegularMediumBold
In typography, Regular is the name of the default weight: the setting nobody chooses on purpose but everybody uses. The capital R in the middle of our name is a decision placed right in the middle of that default. By the rules of spelling, it’s a mistake. On purpose.
How we work
Take 1Everyone’s idea.We always write it down, then set it aside. Knowing what we don’t do explains what we do.
Take 2A good idea. Most agencies stop here. Good, but someone else could have found it too.
Take 7Where we stop. The idea that breaks one rule of the category on purpose. With a reason.
Idea, production and performance sit at the same table. The creative team learns which creative worked not from a report, but from the other end of the table.
What we believe
Attention
Attention can be bought; interest can’t. A media budget puts a brand on screen; it doesn’t keep it there.
Culture
We don’t follow trends; we watch why they appear. Whoever follows catches the trend. Whoever watches sees the next one.
Story
Everyone says they tell stories. Most just summarize. A story starts where something is left out on purpose.
